Farzaneh Safarani and Bahareh Safarani, twin sisters from Iran, collaborate to create technically superior and thought-provoking artworks. This exhibit is the culmination of the sisters’ work in the Master of Fine Arts program that Northeastern offers jointly with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

In this installation of six video-paintings, the Safaranis capture strange, beautiful moments when time seems to stop. They explore the nature of time and create a world of magical realism. In one image, for instance, a woman enters an empty room and peers into a mirror at her eyes, the windows to her inner life. Is this dreamlike moment reality or fantasy?
