  • The Alumni Community

Who is a member of the Northeastern Alumni Association?

All Northeastern graduates who have received a degree are automatically members of the Alumni Association, free of charge.

    What is the online community?

Husky Nation, the Northeastern Alumni Online Community, is a website for alumni offering a suite of services designed to help you make the most of your Northeastern connection. Services include:

    • Alumni Directory – Find friends and update your information
    • Email Forwarding – Get your @alumni.neu.edu email address
    • Alumni Career Center – Search for jobs
    • Class Notes – Let classmates know what you’re up to

How do I register for the online community?

To register for Husky Nation, visit the Account Claim Process page to claim your Northeastern login credentials.

    1. Enter your first name, last name, class year, and Alumni ID (the nine-digit code from the mailing label of the Northeastern Magazine, or call the Alumni Office at 617.373.2656). If you encounter any problems with your Alumni ID, send an email that includes your current full name (and your full name as a student, if different), class year, school, and major, to alumni@neu.edu.
    2. Choose your username, password, security question, and security answer.
    3. Click on the “Continue” button – a web page will show if you have successfully claimed a valid username and password.
    4. Navigate back to the Husky Nation login page and enter your username and password. If you have any difficulties, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@neu.edu or 617.373.2656.

Will people be able to view my information in the alumni directory?

Only other registered alumni and current Northeastern University seniors, juniors, and graduate students are able to search the directory. You can control what information is viewable and which remains hidden.

You can choose to hide information by selecting the gray “Edit” buttons for each section, clicking on the boxes in the Hide column for each row of information to the right, and then selecting the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. If a checkbox shows in the box, that row of information will not be displayed for other alumni, only to you.

You may also choose to opt out of the directory (not even your name and degree will be shown) by editing your directory preferences on our Alumni Directory Opt-Out form.

What is the Northeastern Alumni Network app and how does it work?

Available on both the iOS and Android platforms, the application is designed to allow you to locate and securely connect with other members of the Northeastern community in your area and around the world. The app includes a directory integrated with LinkedIn, maps, photos, and more.

I’ve forgotten my online community username and password. How do I retrieve this information?

To obtain your username, go to the Northeastern Identity Manager page, then enter your first name, last name, class year, and Alumni ID (the nine-digit code from the mailing label of the Alumni Magazine, or call the Alumni Office at 617.373.2656). If you encounter any difficulties, send an email that includes your current full name (and full name as a student, if different), class year, school, and major, to alumni@neu.edu.

To reset your password, visit the Forgot your myNEU username? page and enter the appropriate information on the screen. If you have set up your security questions and answers, you will be prompted to supply this information. If not, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 617.373.2656 or alumni@neu.edu for help with your password.

Do alumni get email accounts? What is alumni Email Forwarding?

Alumni can sign up for an @alumni.neu.edu email forwarding address via the online community. You must be a registered member to receive an alumni Email Forwarding address. This service provides you with a Northeastern-affiliated address.

Any mail sent to your @alumni.neu.edu address will be forwarded to an email address that you define as part of the setup process.

NOTE: You will need to have another active email address as this is simply a mail forwarding service. This service does not store email. Once forwarded, it is out of the system.

My email address has changed. How do I update my alumni Email Forwarding?

You can update your Email Forwarding by logging into the online community and choosing the Email Forwarding feature.

How do I send in a class note?

Recently promoted? Newly married? Published? Share the news with your classmates. Submit a class note for publication in the Northeastern University Magazine via the online directory class notes feature or by emailing alumni@neu.edu. Please include your year of graduation and school affiliation. Since the alumni magazine is published two times each year, deadlines for notes are about two months prior to the publication date.

I’m not receiving the Northeastern University Magazine. How do I get on the mailing list?

If you are not receiving the magazine, we probably don’t have your correct address. Update your contact information in the online community directory, on our Update Your Information form, or send your current address to alumni@neu.edu.
