Future Faculty Workshop
New England Future Faculty Workshop for Underrepresented Groups in STEM* on July 10, 2018
We invite graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in STEM fields to apply for the the New England Future Faculty Workshop to be held on the Northeastern University campus in July of 2018. This day-long conference includes the following topics:
- Finding your institutional fit
- Making your CV stand out
- Interviewing skills
- Crafting a research statement
- Negotiating the job offer
- Creating a quick-start plan
- Honing time management skills
The application is now closed. Participants were notified by May 17, 2018 and directed to the registration site. Accepted participants must register and pay the $50 registration fee by June 1, 2018 to confirm their participation.
This workshop is hosted by the ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development and the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at Northeastern University, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Graduate School, and by Research Corporation for Science Advancement.
*Per NSF, underrepresented groups in STEM consists of three racial or ethnic minority groups (Black, Hispanic, and American Indian or Alaska Native), as well as women and persons with disabilities, whose representation in STEM education or employment is smaller than their representation in the U.S. population.
