Experiential Entrepreneurship (E2) at Northeastern, a pre-college program for talented high school students, offers an intense, experiential, entrepreneurship program for those who want to build a toolbox of entrepreneurial skills that will set you apart from your peers.
E2 is a next generation start up incubator for high school students, powered by the Level Program at Northeastern University. Level is a bootcamp program created by Northeastern University to address skills gaps in the market place, making it easier for students to take advantage of short, intense programs that will build their resume and give them a competitive edge. E2 was created to give aspiring entrepreneurs in high school the opportunity to have a hands-on experience in a world-class environment for entrepreneurs, all while building their resume and demonstrating their interest in innovation and entrepreneurial activities, two hallmarks of Northeastern’s educational approach.
At Northeastern, we believe that the "entrepreneurial mindset" can only be acquired through experience, practice, and mentorship, so we designed this program from the ground up as a fully immersive ecosystem. Additionally, program participants will have the opportunity to get an insider’s peek at our campus and environment, and gain an edge in the college admissions process.
This is not a business plan competition; you will start and run real companies in this program.
You will be surrounded by resources, instructed and mentored by successful entrepreneurs, consultants and experts in multiple fields. You will grow your leadership, teamwork, and resilience skillsets by becoming the founders of companies, working on growing businesses, and by experiencing the ups and downs of the startup experience. We believe in learning by doing, and we mean it—you will be doing it all in this program!
E2 is the only incubator for high school students to offer specialized founder paths. We offer specializations in Technology Startups, Social Entrepreneurship, and Consumer Products and Services. Each path provides you with additional resources, mentorship, and networks that are customized around the needs of your company.
We have designed numerous short, powerful modules to teach concepts from leading startup and entrepreneurship minds (e.g., The Lean Startup, Disciplined Entrepreneurship, and “design thinking” from firms like Continuum and IDEO), and our founders’ own research on entrepreneurial and team psychology, a component we have found to be critical in enabling our students for long-term success.
Our application process is as unique as the program itself. We believe that grades and test scores, while important, only tell a part of your story. We want to get to know you beyond your application and resumé. Please use this as an opportunity to showcase your creativity, skills and interests. We are looking for candidates with a true passion for learning, asking and solving tough questions, and working outside of their comfort zones. Interest is high and seats are limited - we anticipate this program will be highly selective.
The priority deadline for E2 is April 15, 2017. Applications received between April 16 and May 15, 2017 will be reviewed as space within the program allows.CLICK HERE TO APPLY
