Senior Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion

In addition to his role working with students on cultural and spiritual life issues, initiatives, and programs, Jose serves as a special advisor to the president on diversity and inclusion. He is responsible for overseeing the John D. O'Bryant African American Institute, the Asian American Center, the Latinx Center, the Center for Intercultural Engagement, the LGBTQA Resource Center, the Social Justice Resource Center, and the Center for Spirituality, Dialogue and Service.

He works closely with the Office of Global Services and Northeastern Hillel while serving as the advisor to the Student Government Association and the Northeastern African Student Organization. Jose has been a student affairs professional for more than 35 years, taking on increasing levels of responsibility along the way. He joined Northeastern in 2004 as the director of Residential Life. He has been a conference speaker, program presenter, keynote speaker, and consultant in the field of student affairs, with a proven track record of working with and empowering students. He looks forward to speaking with students, and listening to their ideas, opinions, hopes, and aspirations. He believes that helping students realize their potential must be the focal point for every university. Jose is from New York City and attended the State University of New York at Buffalo.
