NU Writing is a juried online journal published by The Writing Program at Northeastern. The journal showcases writing that undergraduates have produced in either First-Year Writing or Advanced Writing in the Disciplines. Students who have not yet graduated are encouraged to submit texts that were written in First-Year Writing or AWD. These texts may have been written in any genre (essays, poetry, fiction, etc.) and media (alphabetic text, video, audio, etc.), as long as that media has been digitized.
NU Writing also offers students the chance to participate on the journal’s editorial board. Any undergraduate who is currently enrolled at Northeastern and has passed First-Year Writing or AWD with a B+ or better can apply. Students who join the editorial board can expect to gain experience reading blind submissions, editing, designing, developing publicity, and organizing readings and other events.
