Northeastern University Women’s Club Ice Hockey
2010-11 ACHA Division 1 National Championship Runner-Up
The Women’s Club Ice Hockey Team enjoyed an
immensely successful inaugural season in USA Hockey – ACHA Division 1
collegiate completion. They once again were ACHA finalist (2010
Division 2 Champs) playing in the Division 1 Championship game only to
lose to Michigan State by one goal for the Division 1 National
Championship of Women’s Club Ice Hockey. They also ended URI’s local
dominance by claiming the ECWHL regular season and playoff championship
and became the first team other than URI (7 straight crowns) to win the
league in 8 years. They also continue to be one of our most successful
teams in terms of leadership, organization, team management, community
service and administration as well as having several Dean’s list
students on their roster. Please see below for a list of their 2011
accolades and join us in congratulating their president, Chelsea Dietz,
their executive board and student coaching staff headed by Nick
Carpenito for yet another job well done.
