Kumiko Tsuji, Japanese

Kumiko Tsuji was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from Sophia University in Tokyo, she obtained her MA in English (TESOL) from California State University, Dominguez Hills and her Ph.D in Theoretical Linguistics from Georgetown University in Washington DC. The focus of her research is Japanese syntax, and particularly the structure of Japanese noun phrases in comparison to other languages.

Kumiko has taught Japanese at institution such as New York University, University of Arkansas, and the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. She has also taught Japanese to college students from all over the world in Japan, where she also taught English grammar and reading to Japanese college students.
