Volunteer Leadership Cohorts
Northeastern is well positioned in academia, research, and innovation because of its strong volunteer leadership, and increasing presence around the globe. Read more about the volunteer leadership cohorts below.
Our goal is to have a volunteer in every country an alum calls home, and the International Alumni Delegates program is the perfect starting off point. This program plays an essential role in ensuring that our many alumni, students, prospective students, parents, and friends living and working abroad remain connected to Northeastern University.
The Northeastern University Ambassadors Program is designed to keep university insiders informed of the latest endeavors and accomplishments of our talented alumni, students, and faculty. Periodically, this network receives Northeastern news and information from President Aoun through multimedia channels with the intent to stimulate dialogues among friends, family, and colleagues about ways we can collectively advance the university.

Bouvé Volunteer Leadership
Volunteer engagement in the Bouve College of Health Sciences is an integral part of our work in support of the classroom experiences for our students, faculty research, co-op placements and mentoring. Alumni, parents and friends from across the country and the globe bring a unique and deeply valued perspective to our programs and ensure that the goals set forth for Bouve’s future growth are grounded in the experiences of our Bouve leaders in the world. Volunteers serve as special guest lecturers in the classroom, they provide guidance and counsel to our Deans and Department Chairs, and serve as coaches and mentors. For example, volunteers have recently reviewed signature endowment case statements, providing a unique perspective on the messaging for this important fundraising initiative. Formal opportunities to engage as volunteer leaders are currently offered through two programs.
The Corporation provides advice and counsel on a variety of important strategic issues as requested by the Board of Trustees (the Board) or the President of the University. Members of the Corporation (Corporators) are expected to be actively involved in the life of the University and serve as a resource by volunteering their leadership, expertise and financial support. Corporators assist with community outreach and also act as ambassadors to promote the interests of the University on a worldwide scale.
D'Amore-McKim School of Business Dean's Executive Council
The Dean’s Executive Council assists the College of Business in its efforts to achieve its vision and continually improve the quality of education it provides to students. They pride themselves on offering leadership opportunities, networking skills, and alumni connections to each member. They are committed to participating in a variety of community service projects to strengthen the bond between students and the Boston and Northeastern Communities. Most of all this is a group of students that love Northeastern and have a lot of Husky Pride! The SAA is a closed group, meaning membership is only open once per academic year in the fall. The group is also capped at 75 members (can be adjusted by making amendments to the constitution). The SAA has a constitution that they follow and refer to if any challenges arise. The group works on a point system, and points are given to members for various commitments, from attending weekly meetings, to attending a 5 Under 25 program, to dressing as Paws. To stay a member in good standing they need to maintain a certain point level.

Young Global Leaders
NU YGL is one of the University’s voluntary, closed-group alumni organizations (it is neither a board nor a council). NU YGL members are active participants in the continuing priority to establish Northeastern as an increasingly globally-renowned university that makes significant contributions to Boston, the United States, and the world through its teaching, research and service programs.
