Welcome Week is an exciting time on campus! With events planned throughout the week, you’ll meet fellow classmates, explore Boston, and learn your way around campus.

Below is an overview of all Welcome Week events. Questions regarding individual programs should be directed to the individual sponsor or department. Welcome Week events are for full-time undergraduate students only. Check our website daily for updates!

University “I AM HERE” Registration

University “I AM HERE” registration is a mandatory action that completes the enrollment process. This takes place through your myNEU Portal from Wednesday, August 30 at 8:00 a.m. through Tuesday, September 5 at 4:00 p.m.

Tour Fenway Park!  The tour begins at 10:30.  We will be leaving campus at 10:00.  Please sign up at the Welcome Week Booth.  Space is limited. 



12:00 - 2:45 pm: Shopping Trip @ South Bay Plaza
Buses will leave from Forsyth Street in front of Shillman Hall
Pick up last minute items at Target, Best Buy, and Bed Bath and Beyond at the South Bay Shopping Plaza. Shuttle bus will leave promptly from campus at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. with pickups from Target at 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.



12:30 - 3:00 pm: Charles River Esplanade
Meet in front of Richards Hall
A perfect way to meet new friends. Enjoy a day of sunshine and fun. Bring a towel to soak up the rays! Wear walking shoes.



 12:30 - 3:00 pm: Walk into History On The Freedom Trail
Meet in front of Richards Hall
A 2.5 mile, red-lined route that leads you to 16 historically significant sites - each one an authentic treasure. Explore museums and meetinghouses, churches, and burying grounds. Learn about the brave people who shaped our nation. Discover the rich history of the American Revolution, as it began in Boston, where every step tells a story. The Tour will end at Faneuil Hall.



1:00 - 3:00 pm: Trolley Tour
Tours will leave from Forsyth Street in front of Shillman Hall
Enjoy a narrated tour of Boston and visit some of Boston's most famous sights. Tickets are limited and can be picked up at the Welcome Week booth in front of Ell Hall.



3:00 - 6:00 pm: Assembly Row
Meet in front of Shillman Hall
Come to where Boston shops, eats, and plays. Check out the outlets at Assembly Row in a lively and eclectic neighborhood only seven minutes from downtown Boston. Please bring fare for the subway.



5:00 - 7:00 pm: An evening at the Museum of Fine Arts
Meet in front of Ell Hall
Join other NU students in this informal visit to Boston's largest art museum. Bring your Husky ID for free admission



7:00 - 8:30 pm: Walking Tour of Boston
Meet in front of Richards Hall
Walk with us to see your new city and neighborhoods around Boston!



7:30 - 8:30 pm: Evening Walk with Ice Cream
Meet in front of Ell Hall
Enjoy a leisurely walk to the Prudential Center and stop for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery.

The goal of the CSSA Chinese Student Meetup is to help Chinese international first year students familiarize themselves not only with campus life but also social life in Boston. We will discuss a variety of experiences that you might consider engaging in, and provide some suggestions about how to best navigate those situations. We will offer a series of activities to help you better understand some of the new experiences you may encounter in an unfamiliar foreign city, and we will help you learn how to take advantage of all the offerings available to you as you create a life for yourself at Northeastern. Upper-class students representing a variety of academic majors will be available to answer questions and provide suggestions and insight. Feel free to ask them for help! They are happy to do so!

Created in 1921 by Rorschach, the infamous Inkblot Test allows viewers to project thoughts and feelings onto ambiguous blots, revealing their inner life to the tester. Now in 2017 come make your own version of this test and see what it says about you (and maybe your roommates!) Have some fun with the PsyClub making your own inkblot that you get to take with you! Ice Cream provided as well (but not analyzed like your inkblot).
