The 9th World Congress on Neurohypophysial Hormones (WCNH 2011) will bring together experimental and clinical scientists from all over the world to focus on recent advances in the molecular biology, physiology, and neurobiology of vasopressin and oxytocin and their ancestral peptides in non-mammalian vertebrates. The accessibility of the neural systems that produce these hormones, their rich history of study, and the central positions that they take in the control of many physiological and behavioral functions have made them into signposts for understanding brain’s control of systemic physiology and behavior in health and disease. This meeting will provide a great opportunity to share new ideas, foster collaborations, and encourage young researchers in the field.

The setting of the conference is spectacular. Northeastern University is situated in the attractive Fenway Cultural District, at walking distance to such cultural icons as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall, and some of the best shopping districts in town. Boston, which is often called the cradle of American history, boasts a large number of historic landmarks, monuments, and museums. The city and its surrounding communities house some of the finest colleges, universities, and medical centers in the world. Arrive early and attend a Red Sox home game in one of the few remaining classical baseball stadiums of the country, Fenway Park. Stay longer and see humpback whales breaching while on a whale-watching tour from the Boston Harbor, or tour New England and be charmed by one of the country’s most enchanting regions.
