Women's Studies Northeastern University Home Veterans Memorial

Why Build a Memorial on Campus?

This project is intended to reach beyond campus borders to the city of Boston, the country, and especially the families of lost soldiers.

Many Northeastern students have given their lives in the country's wars. Therefore, the University is committed to recognizing this tremendous sacrifice by providing a place to honor these young men and women — a place of reflection and remembrance.

The future site of the new Veterans Memorial is at the intersection of new and old parts of Northeastern's revitalized urban campus, where Forsyth Street and the new Centennial Common meet. Currently occupied by a wooden gazebo, which will be removed, the site is visible from Huntington Avenue, the MBTA's Ruggles Station entrance, and many campus paths.
