Race Recap by Anastasia:
We had a great weekend kicking off the collegiate season down in Connecticut at the Park City Triathlon!
We had 9 racers and boy did they make people know who we are haha. For the guys we had Clayton (2:21:10), Owen (2:21:21) and Shane (2:22:06) who all finished within less than a minute
of each other! And for the girls we had Imelda (2:32:28), Marissa (2:46:35), Amber (2:47:15), Gillian (2:56:42), Jenna (3:05:21) and Kelly (3:08:39). Thank you to all who raced this weekend, your ability to go with the flow was greatly appreciated. To those racing this weekend at Lake George we wish you the best of luck and know you're going to represent the team well!
And some vital missing information added by Marissa:
The NUTTs didn't let anything stop them from having a good time this weekend. Even after getting stuck in traffic for hours, blowing a trailer tire on the highway, waiting for AAA to send us help, not getting any help from AAA, flagging down a random tow truck on the highway (shout out to Nick!), buying a Sam's Club membership so we could actually get a new tire, missing packet pickup, and Anastasia sleeping in late on race morning (hahaha) the NUTTs managed to keep their cool. A lovely family dinner at Vazzy's
and an expected sunrise all helped the NUTTs perform their best on race day. After counting the team standings for Park City, the NUTT ladies walk away with FIRST
place!! This looks like the start to a very good season for both the guys and the girls!

One last important event is missing from the race summary and that is Owen's obituary for the wonderful Henry who was tragically taken away from this world while we were waiting to fix our tire:
Henry lived a short but prosperous life. He loved both Shane's leg and the kindle fire from which he was torn by an evil force who goes by the name of Kelly (she claims it was an accident but we all saw what happened). His favorite activities included eating grass and becoming friends with triathletes. His only regret in life was not becoming the beautiful butterfly he was destined to be. Henry touched the lives of many people. Rest in peace, 8/25/12.
