Leading by Example: Current Scholars Host Dorchester Academy Students
A group of 45 high school students from Dorchester Academy spent the day touring and mingling with student scholars at Northeastern University. The high school students' main objective was to learn about the college admissions process and the educational opportunity scholarships available through the Torch, Boston Public High School (BPHS), and Boston Housing Authority (BHA) Scholarship Programs at Northeastern. Inspired by the success of the first two classes enrolled in Northeastern's Torch Scholars Program, alumnus Anthony Manganaro '67, his wife, Michele, and their children, Todd '95 and Nicole D'Amore '97, have donated $7.5 million to support the program. Read more ... |

Northeastern recently instituted a new scholarship program called the Torch Scholars Program. After reading about the program on the Chronicle of Higher Education website , I loved the idea and wonder why more schools don't offer such a scholarship. Read more... |
