Overview

The Three Seas program provides students the opportunity to spend a year studying marine biology in three different marine environments: in New England at the Northeastern Marine Science Center (Nahant, MA) during the spring semester, and spending the fall in the Pacific Northwest at the University of Washington’s Friday Harbor Laboratories (San Juan Island, Washington) and in the Caribbean at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (Bocas del Toro, Panama). This is a unique opportunity for students to live and work in the environments that they are studying. Three Seas is a unique program in that no other college program in the sciences offers the opportunity to learn in three diverse ecosystem locations, explore the field in such depth, and enroll in such a wide variety of marine biology courses.

Alumni of Three Seas, now in its 31st year, have gained admission to the best graduate programs, and are now leaders in their field.
