Destination

Pamplona Pamplona is a modern, hospitable city with much evidence of its medieval past, carefully looked-after buildings and a great variety of cultural attractions and gastronomy. The capital of Navarre and heart of the Kingdom of Navarre, located on the Way of St. James of Compostela (Camino de Santiago de Campostela), has welcomed arriving pilgrims through the centuries at the La Magdalena Bridge, an ideal starting point for a stroll along the city walls. A peaceful city with emblematic places, marked by the Sanfermines and the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago; Calle Estafeta recreates the tension of the Encierro (Bull Run) and the Romanesque bridge of La Magdalena, at the foot of the city walls, is the first to welcome pilgrims to the city. The Sanfermines (Running of the Bulls) became a synonym for the word fiesta thanks to the novelist Ernest Hemingway. Its parks and strolls through the streets of its Old Quarter, the City Hall with its Baroque façade, the Gothic cathedral of Santa María La Real, the Citadel and Vuelta del Castillo, its gastronomy and its popular pinchos (tapas), are some of the many interests that Pamplona boasts. The transition from Old Iruña to modern Pamplona takes place in the green belt formed by the parks of La Media Luna, La Taconera and La Vuelta del Castillo. Pamplona is a city with effective social services, good education and health systems, areas given over to leisure, high industrial activity and a consolidated communications network. In brief, a modern city with a high quality of life.   San Sebastian Located in the Basque Country, San Sebastian (Donostia en euskara) is an explosion of knowledge, art, tradition and modernity available to everyone. Its ten or so museums, its famed film and jazz festivals, splendid and well-known sculptures, the diversity of theatres and exhibition halls are, without a doubt, a clear example of its cultural wealth. More than that, this "small" big city, with touches of the Belle Époque (Golden Age), is the world capital of the pintxo. Gastronomy rivals nature as the most attractive feature of this city that's world famous for its cuisine and chefs like Juan Mari Arzak, Pedro Subijana, Martín Berasategui, Hilario Arbelaitz y Andoni Luis Aduriz. Food is an art form in San Sebastián, and a sign of the city's identity. Its cooks have carried their culinary secrets half way around the world--16 Michelin stars shine brightly from the skies above San Sebastian's restaurant kitchens. San Sebastian also hosts the Basque Culinary Center, the first European university created specifically to provide superior undergraduate haute cuisine. In addition to the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences, the BCC includes a Centre for Research and Innovation in these areas. In addition, San Sebastian is the European Capital of Culture 2016. Bilbao Bilbao is the core of a metropolitan area with more than one million inhabitants. Since its founding more than 700 years ago, it has been a primary socio-economic axis around which the Basque Country has set its modernization process in motion. From Burdeos to La Coruña, Bilbao's hegemony is undisputable. No other city has better reasons to be the economic, financial, cultural and tourist capital of the region. The Old Quarter, Guggenheim Bilbao Museum, Begoña Basilica and Arriaga theatre are some of the amazing sites to visit. On May 19, 2010 the city of Bilbao was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Award World City Prize, considered the Nobel of urbanism. Barcelona Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean rich with history and marked by diversity. Magnificent examples of artistic trends throughout the ages can be found in Barcelona providing a great Romanesque, Gothic and above all Modernista legacy, the latter represented by the work of architectural genius Antoni Gaudí. In addition to Gaudí’s legacy, the city has many interesting places to visit like the Ramblas, Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter. Barcelona is internationally recognized in the world of sport because of the 1992 Olympic Games and soccer team Futbol Club Barcelona.
