Program Description:

The courses are held in Erlangen Germany. Erlangen is located just north of Nuremberg in the wonderful region of Franconia, Bavaria. The city has a vibrant atmosphere, due to hosting the second largest university in Bavaria, the Siemens AG and the Frauenhofer Institute, where the mp3 player was developed. While Erlangen offers a taste of the small-town German experience (about 100.000 inhabitants), the big city of Nuremberg (500.000 inhabitants) is only 15 minutes away.

The German culture course offers an inside view of German culture and history focusing on the excursions done weekly in order to understand the practical experience better. Students will focus on the history of Erlangen and its development to Medical Valley Germany, Nuremberg and its most famous son Albrecht Dürer, Nuremberg`s role before and after World War II, Bavaria´s beer industry. We will visit Munich and Dachau, Nuremberg, Straubing, and Franconian Switzerland.
