This Summer I Dialogue will examine the rise and fall of Communism in Central Europe after World War II, focusing on the Czech Republic, Slovakia, East Germany and Hungary.   Based in Prague at Charles University, the program includes regularly scheduled classes with lectures by the Dialogue leader and local scholars, plus visits to relevant historical and cultural sites around the Czech Republic.  Weekend excursions are planned to Germany (Dresden, Berlin), Slovakia (Bratislava), Hungary (Budapest) and Vienna.

Eligibility Requirements

All student applicants will be interviewed by the faculty leader and graduate assistant.  Those chosen must demonstrate the necessary level of maturity, intellectual sophistication and interest in the course content for participation.  Preference will be given to upper-level students.
