This dialogue introduces the principles of management and leadership in the context of interdisciplinary study and global health care systems. Through introspection and interaction, students will explore complex problems frequently encountered in the health care environment in the United States and Australia. Additionally, students will examine and compare existing and emerging healthcare systems between the two nations with a focus on how effective leadership and management promote collaboration among health professionals and foster healthcare quality and access. This dialogue will also include formal study of culture, history, current events, populations, and global issues in Australia, facilitated by an academic partnership with a college in Sydney. This educational aspect will be supported by informal and formal activities with the professors, guest lecturers (including leaders in nursing and other healthcare disciplines), excursions to points of interest, and cultural events. Opportunities for community service will be explored.
