The nation's first stand-alone school providing real-world experience
to ensure today's aspiring entrepreneur is driving tomorrow's
technological innovation.
Because technological entrepreneurship
resides the intersection of technology and business, it takes a
special school with the independence and ability to draw together
the expertise of different colleges and create a coherent program
focused on specifically on technological entrepreneurship. That's
what we've done and what you'll experience!
STE offers both undergraduate
and graduate programs that teach students
how to create business plans, market science- and engineering-based
products and obtain the financing to start a technology-based business.
We cover important topics you must know to survive and thrive in
the technology-based business world, including intellectual property
rights, licensing and product development strategies.
This is an interdisciplinary program.
Classes are team-taught by faculty members from the colleges of
Engineering, Business Administration, Computer and Information Science
and Bouvé College of Health Sciences, giving you the varied
perspectives you need to compete in today’s market.
The school's developing experiential
program aimed at commercialization of technological ideas from students,
faculty and industry provides students with the opportunity to become
part of project teams working in on-campus company like structures
call I-cubators. The first I-cubator
was put in place for the spring of '07 and focuses on digital media.
The school plans to unroll two more I-cubators in the areas of nano-technology
and bio-technology.
