Panel Discussion with Ron Thomas

February 21, 2012
6 - 8pm
John D O'Bryant African American Institute, Northeastern University

Sport in Society and Northeastern’s Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity are thrilled to bring Sport in Society Excellence in Sports Journalism Lifetime Award Honoree, Ron Thomas to Northeastern for a panel discussion on race and sports.  Thomas has been writing on the subject since the 1970’s, and is now the director of the Journalism and Sports Program at Morehouse College, a program founded by Spike Lee.  The panel discussion will commemorate his work, celebrate Black History Month, and educate the community on the intersection of sport and social issues. We invite students, staff, faculty and friends of the University and Boston community to learn about his work and the important issues he’s addressed over the years.
