
Welcome to the Spiritual Life Center
The Spiritual Life Center strives to to serve, support, nurture and celebrate the spiritual and religious well-being of all in the NU community. The "Top-10" ways we work to provide this support are:

- 1- Friendly support staff and chaplains from many faiths and spiritual paths are here to serve all;
- 2- The Sacred Space- a beautiful award-winning multi-faith space for worship, private contemplation, group meetings, and special events;
- 3- A variety of creative programs to support personal and spiritual growth, ethical development, interfaith dialogue, a sense of community, service to others and more;
- 4- Referrals to a broad range of campus religious groups and local places of worship in many traditions;
- 5- Guidelines to ensure healthy faith practice on our campus, and guidance for recognizing destructive religious groups and practices;
- 6- Suppport for building a balanced life of overall Wellness, including providing experiences and training in such spiritual wellness practices as Reiki, meditation and yoga;
- 7- A strong collaboration with the Multi-faith Student Connection group and Cultural Centers, to encourage essential human connections that embrace diversity;
- 8- A Conflict Resolution program (in partnership with the Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution) to help provide skills and resources to students, and thus promote peace-building on our campus;
- 9- Leadership development for the spiritually engaged students who will be tomorrow's leaders, through such opportunities as the annual "Unplugged" spirituality & leadership retreat, and the Cardinal Cushing Scholarship Awards;

- 10- Providing support systems for new and continuing students. Through pastoral counseling opportunities with chaplains & inclusion on the We Care team, the SLC aids students through some of life's rough spots.
