Interfaith Leadership Fellow (ILF)
Interfaith Leadership Fellow (ILF): Presented each year at UN World Interfaith Harmony Week
CSDS hosted Northeastern’s inaugural observation of United Nations’ Interfaith Harmony Week (IHW) February 7 to February 13, 2014. In collaboration with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH), Northeastern’s Humanities Center, and Student Affairs, CSDS brought one of President Barack Obama's Advisory Council members on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships, Dr. Eboo Patel to campus. Selected by CSDS as the inaugural Interfaith Leadership Fellow (ILF), Dr. Patel gave a lecture that attracted a crowd of 200 people. Dr. Patel also spoke at a breakfast with faculty and administrators, and members of the Presidential Council on Diversity and Inclusion, and the Conflict, Civility, Respect and Peace. The dialogue continued with a midmorning leadership workshop with select staff and a Master Class for students how to “Voice, Engage and Act” for interfaith work. Northeastern Spiritual Advisors held a panel dialogue for students, modeling dialogue for difficult questions. NU Students made interfaith visits to Muslim Friday prayers and Jewish Shabbat, and a “FaithFest: An Interfaith Fair” was held in the Curry Student Center on Northeastern University's Campus.
