Northeastern University is conveniently located in the heart of Boston, 6.5 miles from Boston Logan International Airport with access to multiple subway and bus lines on the main campus. Area attractions include the Museum of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall, Fenway Park, and many shopping and dining destinations. The Northeastern Campus has multiple à la carte dining options as well as two convenience stores. Additional grocers and pharmacies are located within a ten-minute walk from campus.

Accommodations & Amenities

Northeastern University offers enhanced semi-private single accommodations in fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art residence halls. Rooms are equipped with twin-sized bed, desk, chair, dresser and closet. Linens are provided for all participants. All buildings have complimentary Wi-Fi. Northeastern’s state-of-the-art residence halls offer air conditioning, laundry facilities, secure access control and 24-hour proctored front desks as well as complimentary Wi-Fi internet. All bedrooms have windows with standard mini-blinds.

Single Room, West Village, Northeastern University

Beds will be made-up upon arrival to include 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet, 1 pillow with pillowcase, and 1 thermal blanket. Additionally, participants will have 2 bath towels, hand towels, and a face cloth.

The Office of External Events and Conference Housing is committed to providing appropriate accommodations and resources to persons with disabilities, nursing mothers as well as individuals requiring certain medically-necessary provisions. In order to ensure that appropriate arrangements can be made, please contact your conference organizer when requesting housing as part of your registration process.

Because of the short term nature of most group stays, the following services are not standard offerings:  daily room cleaning, mail/package delivery, landline phone service.

Housing Information for Summer Institute Participants

The cost of staying on-campus will be $75/night for the duration of the Summer Institute. Participants can stay for any length of time from July 23 to August 12, 2017. The cost of staying on campus will be deducted from participants’ stipends.

Summer Institute participants will be housed in on-campus apartments. Each bedroom is within a shared apartment that has a kitchen, living space and bathroom(s); a bed, desk and chair, dresser, and closet are available for each participant.

The apartment floor plan (to the right) shows two single bedrooms and one double bedroom. During the institute these double bedrooms will have one bed removed and will serve as single rooms.

Summer Housing Alcohol Policy
Possession and consumption of alcohol is limited to individuals of legal age in a private apartment or bedroom within a residence hall. All occupants of a private bedroom or apartment where alcohol is being consumed must be of legal age. Consumption of alcohol is prohibited in all residence hall common areas. The University expects that all of its program participants abide by University and federal regulations concerning alcohol and drug use.

  • Additional blanket, rooms are fully air-conditioned and can get chilly!

*Participants 18 years of age or older who are staying in apartment-style accommodations will have a fully functioning kitchen with a stove, oven and refrigerator and may use toaster ovens, George Foreman grills and coffee makers. All such appliances must be confined to the kitchen. Use or possession of any type of outdoor grill, hibachi, or open-flame container is prohibited.
