Service-Learning Partnership Orientations

The Service-Learning Program begins each semester with the S-L Partnership Orientation, bringing together community partners, faculty, and S-LTAs to prepare for the new semester and partnerships, share best practices among colleagues and courses, and solidify partnership expectations and goals before students begin their coursework and service in the upcoming weeks.

Past Networking for Service-Learning Breakfasts

Our first Networking for Service-Learning Breakfast held in September 2005 brought together representatives from community-based organizations and NU faculty/staff members to discuss possible and ongoing S-L partnerships with NU. Through this gathering, many exciting connections were developed and came to fruition in the upcoming semesters. The breakfasts continued at the beginning of each semester through the spring of 2008. As the Service-Learning Program continued to grow, we recognized the greater need for events that focused on providing more guidance and support for the partnerships within a given semester, which is why we have since replaced the breakfasts with our new Partnership Orientations.
