Procurement and Purchasing Fraud and Scams

Northeastern University been made aware that criminals are using Northeastern employee contact information for the purpose of fraud against third party vendors.   The following email addresses have been associated with fraudulent activity and are NOT official Northeastern University email accounts.

  • northeastern-edu.com
  • northeaseternuni-edu.com
  • northeasternuniv-edu.com
  • northeasternuniversity-edu.com

Any combination of the above

The scammer will ask that the vendor send the equipment to a non-Northeastern mailing address and request credit card or bank information for payment purposes.

The scammers often target companies that offer office supplies, computer and network equipment, and manufacturing equipment, but it can be any type of product.

If you receive an unsolicited email or phone call from someone claiming to be from the Procurement or Purchasing Office at Northeastern please first verify their contact information at:
