Social Engineering

Social Engineering in its basic form is the art of tricking a person into preforming an action or divulging sensitive information.

In the offline world a similar example would be a stranger knocking on your front door and attempting to trick you into giving them your credit card or signing up for a unneeded heating oil service.

It is simple fraud located in the online world.
