Changes to Northeastern Wireless Guest Network

NOTICE – NUwave-guest access changes, effective August 16, 2013.

To enhance the security of Northeastern’s network, new standards will be implemented for the NUwave-guest wireless network. Beginning on Friday, August 16, 2013, NUwave-guest will provide restricted access to the Internet – limited to web browsers, email clients and VPN applications.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this update, please contact the IS Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP) or help@neu.edu.

FOR STUDENTS

For wireless access students must use NUwave, Northeastern’s secure wireless network, as it protects your information. NUwave-guest is intended for guests who are on campus and do not have a myNEU username and password.

ACTION REQUIRED – ResNet users must re-register all devices on August 22, 2013.

On Thursday, August 22, 2013, ResNet, the network available in residence halls, will be updated by 9 a.m. EDT. When the update is complete, all ResNet users must re-register their devices at http://registerresnet.neu.edu for continued network access during 2013-2014 academic year.

Devices not re-registered following the update on August 22, 2013 will not have access to ResNet until they have re-registered.

FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

All Northeastern faculty and staff must use NUwave, Northeastern’s secure wireless network. Please use your myNEU username and password to join the network.

Note: Sponsored Accounts are available to provide access to university resources to non-Northeastern affiliates conducting official university business (e.g. contractors, visiting professors). Individuals with Sponsored Accounts can access NUwave using their myNEU username and password. Learn more here.
