Barnes and Noble reports that 63 of its stores were hacked and credit card and bank card pin numbers were stolen. Online purchases and campus stores are not affected.
Three stores in MA are on the list: Chestnut Hill, Hingham, and East Walpole.
Barnes and Noble advises customers of the hacked stores to change their debit card pin number if they used a debit card and review their credit card and debit card purchases to look for fraudulent transactions. Contact your bank immediately if you suspect fraudulent transactions.
There is no further available information at this time other then the breach occurred for an undetermined period of time before all 700 store register pin pads were disabled on September 14, 2012.
