Northeastern University – Seattle’s recent information session was the backdrop for a story this week in The New York Times (“In Seattle, Virtual University Will Have a Physical Campus, Too.” October 29, 2012). The article not only spoke about Northeastern expanding to Seattle,

but also about the importance of a physical campus presence in addition to virtual learning.  The face of graduate education in America is changing, and Northeastern is at the forefront of the modern graduate campus — focusing on programming for working adults in a hybrid medium.  On-line and on-ground — the best of both worlds will be options for many of Seattle’s programs beginning in January.  In the article, President Joseph Aoun mentioned the importance of building community — and building community is exactly what Northeastern – Seattle is doing in preparation for the opening early next year.  Degree programs, community outreach and possible research collaborations all center around the high needs of our area.  Building relationships in the Seattle area is crucial, and Northeastern – Seattle looks forward to these opportunities.
