Student Housing in Seattle

The below apartment buildings are located within a few miles of the Seattle Campus.  NU students have lived in these properties in the past and the building management companies are happy to work with our students.  Note: Approximate rates subject to change, please check with the building management for current rates.

Housing Recommendations and Options: 

Base (1728 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122)- Approximately 200 sq. foot, single occupancy, Micro-studios equipped with bed, desk, stool, closet and bathroom. Each unit has a mini-fridge, microwave and small kitchen area. The building has two full communal kitchens, several BBQ grills as well as a patio and roof top deck. There is also bike storage and laundry facilities. This building is 1.3 miles from campus, approximately a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. Many neighborhood amenities within walking distance. Several NU students currently live at Base. Rent ranges from $965 – $1100, you can sign from a 6 month to 1 year lease.

Cal Park (1806 & 1812 12th (2 buildings) 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122)- Approximately 220 Sq. foot Single occupancy, Micro-studios equipped with bed, desk, chair, closet and bathroom. Each room has mini-fridge, microwave and small kitchen area. This building does have a couple lofts that can accommodate 2-3 people. I do not know if any are currently available.  Each building has full sized communal kitchens. Also has community gathering rooms in each building and laundry facilities. This building is 1.3 miles from campus, approximately a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. Many neighborhood amenities within walking distance. Several NU students live here and it is just 200 yards from Base on the same side of the street. Rent ranges from $975 – $1200, you can sign from a 6 month to 1 year lease.

The Viewpointe on Queen Anne

  • In the middle of a renovation and very student friendly. They have full appliances in each, and by end of renovation all units will have washer & dryers in them
  • 1 bedrooms w/1bath, range in price from $1180-$1400 and are 500 – 627 square feet.
  • Utilities are not included and rooms do not come furnished.
  • Secure building

Security Deposits & Applications

  • Refundable Deposit: $200 Non-Refundable Administrative Fee: $299
  • Application: $43 per applicant over 18 years of age.  
    *Application status and actual deposit will be confirmed upon application and credit review.
    *Gross (before tax) income requirement is at least 3 times the monthly rent.
  • *To reserve your new home, we require a $250 holding fee, which is applied as a security deposit (grand total refundable security deposit = $450.)

Berkshire Elliott

  • 1 & 2 bedroom unfurnished apartments
  • 1 bedroom average $1490 – no problem having 2 in a room
  • 2 bedroom average $2240 – 4 to a unit is fine
  • They all come with full appliances including W/D in each unit
  • Secure building
  • Essentially same deposit and application process as above, but not quite as easy to get in for students as the other.
