Tayloe Washburn

Seattle Graduate Campus Dean and CEO

Tayloe Washburn, a prominent lawyer and civic leader in Seattle, is the founding dean and executive officer of the Seattle graduate campus. Tayloe, a former chair of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, is experienced in building partnerships between the public and private sectors. He has long advocated for expanded educational opportunities in Seattle to prepare the region’s workforce for the needs of the 21st century economy. A nationally recognized attorney, he holds a law degree from the University of Washington, as well as a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in history, both from Stanford University.

In addition to serving on the Chamber board, Tayloe’s work in the Seattle area community includes serving on the chair of the boards of Seattle King County Economic Development Council, Schools First!, and the Washington Aerospace Partnership, having been appointed by Governor Chris Gregoire. He has also served on the boards of Forterra (formerly Cascade Land Conservancy), and the 5th Avenue Theatre.

In 2010, he received Leadership Tomorrow’s 2010 Eddie Carlson Outstanding Alumnus Award and in 2012 was named Enterprise Seattle’s Economic Development Champion of the Year. 


Dr. Angela L.E. Walmsley

Associate Dean – Academics

Dr. Angela L.E. Walmsley is the Associate Dean at the Seattle Graduate Campus.  She has been working in the field of education for approximately twenty years.  Dr. Walmsley holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois, a Master in Education and Diploma in Statistics from Trinity College Dublin, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from Saint Louis University.   She has taught middle school and high school mathematics both in the United States and the United Kingdom; and she has taught general education and mathematics education courses and research methods courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at two universities in the Saint Louis area.  Prior to joining Northeastern University, she served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research in the College of Education and Public Service at Saint Louis University.  In addition, Dr. Walmsley mentored both undergraduate and graduate students regarding teaching and research, directing multiple dissertations and theses. Dr. Walmsley has authored five books and approximately twenty-five articles.   


Stephanie Pure

Senior Director, Community & Business Relations

Under the direction of the Regional Dean, Stephanie’s role is to initiate new relationships and broaden existing relationships with corporate, nonprofit, association, and governmental partners, as well as serve as marketing liaison and assist the Dean with the development and implementation of marketing strategies.

Prior to joining Northeastern University—Seattle, Stephanie Pure was the External Relations Director at AIA Seattle, the seventh largest urban chapter of the American Institute of Architects, where she focused on marketing, sponsorship, and public affairs. Her background also includes serving as longtime Legislative Aide and policy advisor to former Seattle City Council member Peter Steinbrueck FAIA. She is a Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Honoree, as well as a 2011 graduate of Leadership Tomorrow. Stephanie earned her degree in Political Science at the University of Washington (’96).


Gina Takasugi

Assistant Director, Admissions Recruitment & Student Services

Gina Takasugi serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions Recruitment and Student Services for the Seattle graduate campus. She acts as an initial point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through application and enrollment processes, and assisting in all aspects through to commencement. Recent career experiences have revolved around early childhood education with earlier involvement in teaching English as a foreign language. She holds a BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and an MA in Comparative Education from University of London’s Institute of Education.


Anne Maria Jacobson

Administrative Operations Manager

Anne Maria Jacobson is the Administrative Operations Manager for the Seattle Graduate Campus. In this role she works closely with the Seattle team to assist in fulfilling their objectives, keeps the campus running seamlessly and supports Dean & CEO Tayloe Washburn. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Southern Utah University.

Prior to joining the Seattle Graduate Campus Team, Anne Maria was the Board Administrator and Special Projects Manager for nine years at the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. She has also had the good fortune to work for the 2002 Winter Olympics and Jim Henson Productions.


Claire Lewis

Admissions Recruiter

Claire is the Admissions Recruiter for the Northeastern Seattle campus and works closely with recruiters on the Boston and Charlotte campuses as well. Claire attends, organizes, and executes various recruitment events, including college fairs, open houses, on-line webinars and chats, as well as develops partnerships with other colleges and universities, organizations, and companies.  Previously she worked for other Higher Education institutions such as Bentley University and Tufts University but was inspired to become part of the Northeastern team after receiving her Masters in Education from Northeastern’s College of Professional Studies in Winter 2012!


Connor McKay

Marketing and Social Media Manager

Connor McKay is the Marketing and Social Media Manager for the Seattle Graduate Campus. In this role he oversees all of the campus’s social media accounts, maintains and updates the campus website and edits and curates the campus blog Re:Connect.  He is currently pursuing a BS in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and Administration at Northeastern University in Boston. For his first co-op placement he worked for City Councilor Michael P. Ross and for his second he worked in former Mayor Menino’s Office. This is his third co-op. 



Gulbin Yasar

Campus Assistant 

Gulbin Yasar serves as the Campus Assistant for the Northeastern Seattle Campus and works closely with the Administrative Operations Manager. Her main responsibility is assuring the campus runs smoothly for evening classes and weekend cohorts. She provides general support to students and professors, manages room and equipment set up, and assists with campus events. During her studies, she had an opportunity to work closely with professors and other students. She holds a BA in International Relations from Ege University, Turkey, and a Certificate of Completion of the Eramus Student Exchange Program from Metropolitan University of Prague, Czech Republic. She recently moved to the Seattle from her home country, Turkey, and enjoys working with students at the Northeastern Seattle Campus.
