Arriving and Parking
In addition to NU-Seattle’s Graduation celebration there are several other competing events taking place at the Seattle Center and within Seattle proper on June 10. The annual Rock & Roll Marathon and UW Bothell’s graduation are the largest to be aware of. To ensure you are ready to participate successfully we have some tips to help you prepare for the big day.
- Give yourself lots of extra time to get to the Cornish Playhouse, 201 Mercer Avenue, Seattle, WA 98109
- Graduates are required to check in at 12:00 p.m.; lineup begins at 1:20 p.m.
- You will have time to put on your regalia at the playhouse
- During this time you will be in a separate private area from your guests
- There will be group photos taken before the processional
- You will have time to congratulate and celebrate with your fellow graduates
- Graduates are required to check in at 12:00 p.m.; lineup begins at 1:20 p.m.
- Plan your route in advance!
- https://arcg.is/0qDyqy link to parking/transportation map
- Have a backup plan if your first route is blocked or parking garage is full
- Best tips:
- Park in SLU and walk to the venue
- Park in downtown Seattle and take the monorail to the Seattle Center
- Take an Uber or Lift and be dropped off at the Playhouse
- Coordinate with your family and friends who are joining you that day
- They must be in their seats before 1:45p when doors close!
- They must have their tickets to gain entry
- Guests of ALL ages are required to have a ticket
Extra Notes:
- The ceremony will last about two hours.
- Guest seating is first-come; first-serve.
- Please remind your guests that tickets are required; they can bring a physical copy or show us their scannable ticket (which requires the Eventbrite mobile app to access).
- Graduates are not permitted to ‘toss’ their cap; the technology hanging from the ceiling is low-hanging and fragile.
- Remember that your shoes and ankles will show below your regalia. Jeans are not recommended.
- We will have a professional photographer; all pictures will be available for students to download free of charge, including an individual photo of each graduate crossing the stage.
- You will not be receiving your diploma at the Seattle Campus graduation. Northeastern will mail it to your preferred address (as you listed in your application to graduate) in an official diploma cover.
