Research & Partnership

Northeastern is internationally known for interdisciplinary research collaborations that yield solutions to global challenges, with a focus on health, security, and sustainability.

Among its more than 30 active research centers, the university is home to national centers designated by federal agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the National Security Agency. The Center for Research Innovation helps translate discoveries into commercial solutions and advances Northeastern’s leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship.

The faculty’s expertise in areas such as biotechnology and drug discovery, personal health informatics, cybersecurity, energy storage and conversion, global health and health-care processes, and urban public policy holds great potential for research partnerships in Seattle.

In addition to research, Northeastern’s cooperative education and executive education programs are a source of strong partnerships with corporations around the world, including Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, EMC, Microsoft, and General Electric.
