City to City works to identify best practices that achieve social and economic change in urban areas across the globe, and bring those ideas back to Boston. The trip to Seattle aimed to cover a variety of topics including jobs, affordable housing, education, private/public partnerships, and the booming technology industry.

The Northeastern University – Seattle campus in South Lake Union served as a physical representation of the Boston to Seattle connection and the shared learning opportunities available when both cities collaborate, said Founding Dean Tayloe Washburn in his address to the delegation.

Before visiting the campus, Mayor Walsh participated in the famous Pike Place Market fish throw, and the delegation visited affordable housing units, toured public art installations, and learned about the massive growth in South Lake Union over the past decade.
