CEWS focus: Precipitation Extremes and Climate Change
DSCS focus: Spatiotemporal Data Mining, Extreme Value Theory and Bootstrap, Nonlinear Models in Machine Learning

Debasish Dasis interested in application and development of data mining techniques in various climate related problems. He is currently working on development of data-driven algorithms for better understanding the spatio-temporal dependence structure of precipitation extremes and its relation to other climate covariates with an eventual goal of predicting future extremes with appropriate uncertainty quantification.

He is also pursuing a doctoral degree in computer science from Temple University, Philadelphia. His broad research interests include spatial and temporal data mining, graphical models and statistical machine learning.
