Nancy Tavares has been at Northeastern University since 2001 as a co-op advisor/faculty member in the School of Criminal Justice. For the past year, she has also taken on the Human Services department in the same capacity; i.e., advising students on co op opportunities, teaching the co op prep course, maintaining contact with employers and alums and setting up new co op positions for both departments.
Prior to coming to Northeastern, she worked in various non-profit and child welfare agencies including The Home for Little Wanderers, Boston Children’s Services, Coastal Community Counseling Center, Roxbury Comprehensive Services and Brockton Multi Services. Nancy was a caseworker, therapist and director of family support programs. She has served on many committees including the Diversity committee at Northeastern in which she was a trainer for faculty and staff.
