Following is a brief summary of each of the insurance policies and self-insured programs currently overseen by the Office of Risk Management. Please feel free to contact our office if you have questions about any of these:
- Property: Covers NEU buildings, contents and mobile equipment by most causes of physical damage including mechanical or electrical breakdown, flood and earthquake.
- Crime: Coverage for the loss of money, securities and tangible property by criminal acts of anyone as well as theft of NEU property by employees.
- General and Automobile Liability: Coverage for legal defense costs and settlements, judgements or awards from lawsuits alleging bodily injury or property damage to others, including vehicle accidents.
- Excess Liability: Excess liability over general liability, auto liability, employer's liability, limited professional liability and foreign.
- Limited Professional Liability: Coverage for legal defense costs and settlements, judgements or awards from lawsuits alleging negligence or failure to perform professional services that include legal services, counseling, architectural services and nursing.
- Educators Legal Liability: Coverage for legal defense costs and settlements, judgements or awards from lawsuits alleging financial damager to others, including employment related, professional educators and trustees & officers liability.
- Multi Media Professional Liability: Coverage for publishing E&O and radio broadcasting liability.
- Foreign Liability: Coverage for liability incidents arising from foreign travel.
- Automobile Physical Damage: Coverage for damage to NEU vehicles from vehicle accidents.
- Workers Compensation and Employers Liability: Coverage for bodily injury from accidents or disease to NEU employees during the course of employment.
- Fiduciary Liability: Covers legal defense costs and settlements, judgements or awards from lawsuits alleging mismanagement of employee benefit/retirement plans.
- Medical Malpractice: Covers legal defense costs and settlements, judgements or awards from lawsuits alleging medical malpractice for various individual employed doctors.
- Watercraft Liability, Physical Damage & Pollution Liability: Covers bodily injury or property damage to others, physical damage to NEU vessels and pollution liability arising out of your vessels.
