Staff Procedures

When submitting a claim on behalf of a student, faculty and staff must adhere to the instructions found in the Filing Student Claims: Staff Guidelines.

Claim Process:

• A ResLife representative conducts an investigation of the claim, during which work orders are reviewed and discussions with all involved parties will take place.
• After the investigation has been completed and a faulty party determined, the ResLife representative then is responsible for presenting the claim to the Office of Risk Services.
• The Office of Risk Services will then either accept the recommendation or works with the student to resolve the issue through other channels.

Please note:

• Forms must be submitted in a timely manner to the Office of Risk Services.
• It is ResLife's responsibility to inform the students of their responsibilities regarding forms and documentation of costs.
• Staff members should never dispose of any property that student is claiming was damaged.
