AED's
An Automated
External Defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic device that diagnoses and
treats potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias in a patient by application
of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to re-establish
an effective rhythm.

AED Training Program
We train select members of the University community
in an effort to create a network of first responders throughout the campus. If you are interested in becoming part of the program, please call the Office
of Risk Management at x8668 to find out when the next training session is scheduled.
Please note: In the event of
an emergency requiring the use of an AED, remember call Campus Police at x3333
first.
While anyone can, at their discretion, provide voluntary assistance to victims
of medical emergencies, the extent to which individuals respond should be appropriate
to their training and experience.
