Using Tutoring Buddy to Teach Letter Sounds to ELL Students

Abstract

This poster will present evidence that Tutoring Buddy, which is a computer-assisted tutoring program designed to teach children letter sounds using incremental rehearsal, is an efficient tool for increasing the letter sound knowledge, letter sound fluency, and nonsense word fluency of kindergarten and first-grade ELL students. Attendees will learn how Tutoring Buddy can be feasibly implemented as a preventative intervention for a variety of children in a range of settings.
