A Clock Signal Generation Circuit for Ultra-Low-Power Chips in Portable and Implantable Devices

Abstract

Low-frequency oscillators with low-power consumption are in demand for integration into implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, blood glucose meters and heart monitors, where low power consumption is essential to maximize the longevity of the battery. A relaxation oscillator with integrated voltage and current reference generation circuits is presented for on-chip signal generation in low-power applications.
