3. Judging Criteria

Before you begin to organize your poster or presentation, take a moment to consider the judging criteria.  Each presenter will be judged on four criteria worth 25 points each for a total possible score of 100 points.

  1. Originality: Is the research topic fresh and new? Does it offer a new perspective on existing research? Is the research compelling and interesting?
  2. Significance/Impact of Research: Does the research have impact beyond the RISE:2013 presentation?
  3. Quality/Substance of Poster: Is the poster clear and concise? Does it convey the essence of the research? Is it visually appealing?
  4. Overall Presentation: This is the RISE Pitch, scored on the day of the event. Does the presenter demonstrate command of the research? Is the topic effectively communicated to a lay audience? Does the presenter understand his/her own work?
