Judging Criteria

Take a moment to consider the judging criteria.  Each presenter will be judged on four criteria worth 25 points each for a total possible score of 100 points.

Judging Criteria

Organize your presentation

Using the RISE poster template, organize your research or presentation. When designing your poster, keep these questions in mind:

  • What is the main function of your poster?
  • What is the information you want your audience to receive and understand?
  • Review the judging criteria.

Upload your poster/Pick it up

Once your abstract is approved by the review committee, you will receive an email with a link to upload your poster as PDF to our judging portal. Please submit your poster no later than March 8, 2013. A copy will automatically be sent to Reprographics for printing. Please note that you may only upload and print your poster ONCE! The Office of the Provost covers the cost of one 36" by 48" poster per student.

Posters may be picked up from Reprographics (11 Ell Hall) approximately 3 days after uploading (use your Abstract# to claim your poster).  Please call 617-373-5646 to ensure it is ready.

Prepare your RISE pitch

The day of RISE:2013, you have only 3-5 minutes to describe your research to the judges, and to convince them of it's validity. We call this the RISE pitch. It's worth 25% of your overall score, so spend some time perfecting it.

How do you craft a RISE pitch?
