Configuring HuskyMail on Mac Mail 3.6 (Leopard)

Part 1: Change e-mail password

Please make sure you have changed your HuskyMail password – For instructions on how to change your Husky Mail password, please click here.

Part 2: Configuring MacMail

Step 1: In Mail, click File -> Add Account…

Step 2: Enter your full name, your husky email address, and your new email password. Hit Continue.

Step 3: Under Account Type, select IMAP. For description, type in your email address. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter in “imap.gmail.com.” For user name, type in your full email adress and then type in your password after. Hit Continue.

Step 4: Under description, type in your email address. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter “smtp.gmail.com.” Make sure that the “Use only this server” box is checked. Next, make sure that the “Use Authentication” box is checked, and then type in your full email address next to User Name, and then your password. Hit Continue.

Step 5: Now just hit Create and you should be all set to go.

The following page explains how you can configure Mac Mail (version 3.6) for Leopard to send and receive your Husky e-mails. Note: This is only available to those is only available to those who have migrated over to the GMail Apps client, with husky.neu.edu e-mail addresses. Those that still use @neu.edu e-mail addresses will not be able to use this tutorial.

When syncing with Mac Mail, your e-mail password must be different than your MyNEU password. This is necessary as a security protocol for Northeastern students and syncing will not work if the two passwords are not different.
