Sophomore Year Experience

The Sophomore Year Experience Program (SYE) focuses on the issues and needs specific to sophomores at Northeastern University.  The overall goal of the program is to enhance the sophomore year experience through intentional, purposeful, residential, and campus programs and resources.

We are seeking to provide sophomores living both on and off campus the skills of networking and independent living and provide the knowledge to successfully complete their first co-op experience and, at the same time, assist them in developing closer relations with faculty and creating a greater sense of school loyalty.

SYE is planning numerous programs to meet these needs including a welcome back program, dinner with faculty, co-op panel discussion, raffles, and a cooking demonstration. In addition to these programs, information about other campus programs will be provided as well as advice from peers. This advice will include checklists for goals the sophomores should be working on throughout the year and articles in an upcoming newsletter about previous sophomores’ experiences.
