The Center for Resilience Studies as part of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities is helping the Department of Political Science in collaboration with other departments and programs at Northeastern University to launch the Master of Science in Security and Resilience Studies beginning in Fall 2014. Using the interdisciplinary expertise of scholars from across Northeastern, this degree will offer students the opportunity to explore public and international issues such as terrorism, homeland security, resilience, and sustainability.

The Master of Science in Security and Resilience Studies will educate the next generation of security professionals to face the challenges of the 21st Century. The program provides a unique combination of traditional security studies coursework with education in technical fields such as cybersecurity, business sustainability, and urban coastal resilience. This combination of analytical and technical coursework will enable students to succeed in security management, policy and leadership roles in the public and private sectors.
