Faculty at Northeastern are developing innovations to:

  • Better diagnose cancer and find cures to infectious diseases of the developing world
  • Understand the roots of health and illness in the microbiome and by seeing into the molecular processes of living systems
  • Create new drugs and drug-delivery systems, including nanotechnology-based cancer therapies and biopharmaceuticals
  • Create safe, effective pain-killers as alternatives to opioids
