The purpose of this notice is to inform you of two important items of interest:
2 – The National Science Foundation (NSF) is moving its headquarters to Alexandria, Virginia. NSF will have a new mailing address effective Monday, October 2, 2017, as follows:
National Science Foundation, 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22314
To prepare for the relocation, NSF is moving its Data Center IT servers to the new headquarters from June 30th at 8pm through July 4th at 6pm. This move has been scheduled around a holiday weekend to minimize the systems downtime and reduce the impact on the research community and NSF staff. However, as a result, the NSF website, Research.gov, and FastLane will be unavailable during this time. There will be no access to these websites, proposals cannot be submitted in FastLane, and project reports and cash requests cannot be submitted in Research.gov. All previously saved information and uploaded documents in FastLane and Research.gov, including in-process proposals and reports, will not be affected and will be accessible after the Data Center moves.
If you or your investigators have proposals or reports due in late June or early July, we encourage you to have them submitted to NSF by Wednesday, June 28th.
The physical move to NSF’s new headquarters will be phased over a 6 week period, August 24th – October 1st. During this time, you may experience delayed response times when trying to communicate with NSF employees, as well as impacts to services provided (e.g. drawdowns).
For additional information about the NSF’s relocation, please see the NSF notice.
