Portfolio Submission
Requirements for Nominee Portfolios
Below is a list of required forms and supporting materials for nominees in each category. Please provide all the supporting materials that apply. All portfolios materials must be submitted by 5:00pm on Wednesday February 20, 2013.
Please note the following:
- The letter of recommendation and letter of authentication should be mailed (in separate sealed envelopes) to Phil He, Associate Vice Provost for Graduate Education, at 110 Churchill Hall. Please ensure the student’s last name appears in the bottom right-hand corner of each envelope. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that these materials are completed and mailed.
- All remaining documents should be uploaded to the submission portal in a single PDF file labeled with the student’s last name.
Completed portfolios should consist of the following:
Research: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering
- Completed letter of authentication
- Current resume or CV
- List of publications, current or forthcoming in 2012-2013 (with full citation information)
- List of patents, current or forthcoming in 2012-2013 (with full citation information)
- List of presentations at academic conferences in 2012-2013, current or forthcoming
- List of honors and awards received in 2012-2013
- Copies of publications in 2012-2013 as they appear in the literature
- A one-page reference letter from the nominee’s principal research advisor
Research: Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Completed letter of authentication
- Current resume or CV
- List of publications in 2012-2013, current or forthcoming (with full citation information)
- List of patents in 2012-2013, current or forthcoming (with full citation information)
- List of presentations at academic conferences in 2012-2013, current or forthcoming
- List of honors and awards received in 2012-2013
- Copies of publications in 2012-2013 as they appear in the literature
- A one-page reference letter from the nominee’s principal research advisor
Community Service
- Completed letter of authentication
- Current resume or CV
- List of activities in 2012-2013 (please briefly describe the tasks carried out and contributions made by the nominee during this period, please indicate the institution, college or office, and whether this is an internship or paid/unpaid job)
- Personal philosophy (please provide a brief statement describing your ethics, approach, objectives and understanding of service; you can also include innovations and dissemination activities, self-assessment and improvement techniques as well as leadership and mentoring experiences you had in this service)
- One reference letter in addition to the nomination letter
- Supporting materials (please list awards and honors received, certificates taken, training attended, or publications as well as any other documents as a proof of your work, e.g. prepared newsletters, flyers, drawings or designs)
Experiential Learning
- Completed letter of authentication
- Current resume or CV
- Documented proof that a minimum of six months of Cooperative Education or Practicum or Internship was completed through Northeastern University supervision
- Documented proof that the candidate has compiled an exemplary record of performance on all completed Cooperative Education or Practicum or Internship assignments
- Experiential learning list of achievements, activities and quotes
Teaching: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering
- Completed letter of authentication
- Current resume or CV
- Syllabi of courses taught or to be taught in 2012-2013
- One-page recommendation from a faculty member familiar with the nominee’s teaching
- Statement of the nominee’s teaching philosophy
- Representative selection of course materials such as assignments, examinations, or PowerPoint printouts
- Representative selection of student evaluations
